However, it may not have such an appeal for the boys, as it is quite girly. I really enjoyed simply discussing with the group about certain aspects of the novel, and hearing their opinons about it. I also enjoyed the literature circles questions, i throught they were interesting to answer, and to hear other peoples answers. However i would have maybe liked to have used certain quotes or scences in the novel for something. Overall, i have really enjoyed extention english this term!","dateCreated":"1299662351","smartDate":"Mar 9, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"EmilyDennerstein","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/EmilyDennerstein","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"35601752","body":"I have enjoyed the book Stolen, and would recommend using it for future literature electives as it is a very unique book and I think it is very enjoyable to discuss because everyone has their own thoughts about it.","dateCreated":"1299712504","smartDate":"Mar 9, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"georgiadixon1","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/georgiadixon1","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"35601876","body":"Literatire Circles has been a great programme. I have never looked into a book with such depth as we did with the novel Stolen. I have found it really insightful. I have especially enjoyed doing the Part B and C projects. I thought Stolen was a bit girly though. Overall, I likes the Literature Crces programme","dateCreated":"1299712614","smartDate":"Mar 9, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"callumprestidge","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/callumprestidge","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"35624824","body":"I have really enjoyed the Literature Circles programme. It has really helped my understanding of the novel and has also shown me things about the novel that I wouldn't have taken any notice to before the programme. I cannot find any flaws on the programme and think that it should definitley be continued. I enjoyed the novel stolen. Another book that I believe would be good for the literature circles is 'When the Hipchicks went to war' by Pamela Rushby.
\nI cannot wait to start on our book trailers and to get into Jarvas 24 next term.","dateCreated":"1299742270","smartDate":"Mar 9, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"emilymilnes","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/emilymilnes","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"35626838","body":"I have loved this elective. I really look forward to it each week. This program has really helped me to anylise differant books and to look deeper into things. The one thing i did not like about this elective was Stolen. It is just to femanine i feel for a guy to enjoy. I have recently read a book called The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It would be good for both boys and girls who love their imagination to be stretched and mystery.
\n
\nOne thing i would like however, if we could have possibly had more time with Kerrey Brown to help us with our picture books. And lastly, i think i would prefer if we could have the choice between making the book trailer either on Stolen or The Rugmaker.","dateCreated":"1299749122","smartDate":"Mar 10, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"matthewguilding","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/matthewguilding","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"35628072","body":"So far this elective has been great. I have learnt heaps each week, and always look forward to it. I think this elective has really helped analyse books, and to view them in diffeent ways.
\nHowever, I didn't really like Stolen. As a guy, I think all guys prefer books that are more violence, fantasy and action. I look forward to reading Jarvis 24 though. I sounds like a good book.
\nHowever, I think it would have been better if Kerry brown has spent a bit more time with, to help us with writing the picture book.
\nOther than these thingss, however, Literature Lovers has been a great expererience, where I learnt, but I had fun while doing so. I'm looking forward to term 2!","dateCreated":"1299753716","smartDate":"Mar 10, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"balu.e","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/balu.e","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"35744696","body":"I have really enjoyed Literature as an elective so far- what I like about it most are the group discussions we have about the books because it is really interesting to hear everybody's opinions about the books. However, I would really have liked to do some more creative writing in Literature- it would be interesting to give everyone a topic and see what we each make of it individually.
\n
\n
\nI think that Stolen was a bit too boyish, so the boys couldn't fully enjoy it- but i think most books are either angled to boys or girls, so it would be quite difficult to find a book that both genders can appreciate. I don't think I really like Stolen, but it does make the reader want to know what happens in the end, but because of the horrible concept to it (i.e. kidnapping), it wasn't a happy book to read, but it was a very intense read. I have really enjoyed the Jane Austen books, such as Persuasion and Pride and Prejudice, but again, I think they might not appeal so much to the boys.
\n
\nI think that in first term, we should focus on the book we are reading and the activities and discussions associated with that, and in second term, we should make our picture book, and focus on creative writing whilst doing so.
\n
\nOverall, i have immensly enjoyed Literature as a subject, and can't wait for new experiences next term! I also think our class is fantastic, and it's great to be learning with people with the same passions as I.

I most liked the Part B and C activities and getting a chance to read a novel that I normally don't choose to read. Stolen was a very unique book and I really enjoyed it. I think this novel is still great to be used in the future as well. I think this elective is perfect and I can't find any flaws in it.
\n
\nThis elective has really improved my understanding of a novel and how to analyse it (thanks to the analysing questions that we had to do) and I learned something new every week in the elective lessons!
\n
\nOverall, I think that this elective has been very enjoyable and I liked analysing the book, Stolen.
